Library

The mission of the library is to support our students and faculty in their quest for information and recreational reading. Our goal is to create lifelong learners who are efficient, ethical and knowledgeable users of information.

The library is open Monday 8:05 a.m. to 3:38 p.m., Tuesday 8:05 a.m. to 3:38 p.m., Wednesday 8:05 a.m. to 3:38 p.m., Thursday 8:06 a.m. to 3:34 p.m. and Friday 8:05 a.m. to 2:56 p.m. Students are welcome to swipe their IDs to enter the library for quiet study or research whenever they have a free period. Students must have their student ID in order to swipe in and enter the library.
 
Computer use: Students are welcome to use the library computers for research, typing their assignments and personal e-mail. However, if the computers are all being used, priority is given to those doing research and then typing.

No food of any kind is allowed in any section of the library. 
No beverages, except water, are allowed.

 
Computers are not to be used for games, gambling , sports sites or e-commerce (e-Bay or purchases).

Bronx Science Library Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones should only be used for school-related purposes.
Do not use cell phones to make calls.

Do not use cell phones to play sounds (use your earbuds).
Do not use cell phones to play online games in the library.
Cell phones may not be used to take pictures of other students, or of staff.


Bronx Science Chrome Book Policy
Chrome books are a supplemental resource—distribution after ALL other computers are taken.
Chrome books are to be used for school work only—those who do not follow this policy will not be able to borrow Chrome books going forward.

Chrome books must be returned 5 minutes before the bell.


Books: Students may take out two books at a time and keep them for two weeks. A fine of 10 cents per day is levied for overdue materials. For some materials, only a 1 day loan is permitted. Students will be limited to only one book per subject area in order to share library resources. Students can pay fees for late, or lost books via the School Store, by clicking here​​​​​​​.
