9th Grade Advisory: Allows students to learn important and time sensitive information. Once a month, students will attend a lesson facilitated by their Big Sibs and overseen by their school counselor. This will enable them to navigate their 9th grade year, as well as their high school career, with ease.
These lessons will take place on Mondays (schedule below) during 10th period (3:00-3:40 p.m.) and will allow students to gain important insight from their fellow students, as well as begin to build a rapport with their counselor. We will cover a variety of topics, and students can look forward to learning about: transitioning to Bronx Science, extracurricular opportunities, time management, course selection, making healthy choices, and many more exciting topic!
The private bus company Vallo informed us that unfortunately, due to the number of students, not every student will be able to take Vallo home at 3:50 p.m. and these buses will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can also take Vallo home at 5:15 p.m., which begins on 9/24/19. Please note students must have a Vallo I.D. card in order to board any bus.
If students plan to take public transportation home, please travel in groups, and exercise caution.
Attendance will be taken, and cuts will be issued.
The only way to be excused from class will be by providing an Out of Building Pass.
