Min Jin Lee '86

Min Jin Lee is a writer who has authored several pieces of both fiction and nonfiction. In 2007, Lee wrote her first novel, Free Food for Millionaires, which was named a New York Times Editor’s Choice. Just this year, she published her second novel, Pachinko, which has become a national bestseller and was named a Finalist for the National Book Award for fiction.

In addition to these novels, Lee’s short writings have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Times of London, and many other publications.

Prior to her career as an author, Lee worked as a lawyer after graduating from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1993. She graduated from Yale in 1990 with a degree in History, after graduating from Bronx Science in 1986.
