Alan "Buz" Kohan '51

Renowned comedy writer Alan Kohan has been at the forefront of the entertainment industry for over forty years. Kohan has been head writer for over 200 television special and series, including five Presidential Inaugural Galas, eighteen Academy Award Oscar Shows, seven People's Choice Awards, seven Emmy Awards, seven Grammy Awards, three Tony Awards, and many other award shows and specials. Kohan has written and co-produced specials for many prominent celebrities, including Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Diana Ross, The Jackson Five, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Miss Piggy and the Muppets. Kohan has been nominated for thirty-one National Emmy awards and has been awarded thirteen Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, three Ace Awards and two NAACP Image Awards.
