The Bronx Science Speech and Debate Team Dominated the Interleague Tournament

At the Interleague tournament held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, the team dominated the competition. Click the headline for details about the team's achievements.


Arjun Mazumdar (’21) championed Congressional Debate, Garreth Hui (’20) placed 10th, and Alina Hassan (’21) placed 18th, all earning a qualification to the New York State Forensics League State Championships. Angelena Bougiamas (’22), Samuel Stille (’22), and Ria Anandjee (’22) broke to finals in Congressional Debate as well.

Emery John (’20) championed the Original Oratory category, earning a qualification to the New York State Forensics League State Championships.

In Varsity Oral Interpretation, Charlie Valencia (’20) placed 5th, earning a qualification to the New York State Forensics League State Championships.

In Duo Interpretation, the team of Enza Jonas-Giugni (’21) and Elana Abrams (’21) placed 5th.

In Varsity Extemporaneous Speaking, Kelly Liu (’21) placed 8th, earning a qualification to the New York State Forensics League State Championships. Evangelina Yakushev (’21) broke to finals as well.

In Dramatic Interpretation, Chloe Schamisso (’21) placed 8th.
