The Bronx Science Speech and Debate Team Swept the Scarsdale Invitational

The Bronx Science Speech and Debate team swept the Scarsdale Invitational held during the weekend of November 9, 2019. Click the headline to read about the team's successes.


Tenzin Dadak (’21) and Ayanava Ganguly (’21) championed the Varsity Public Forum category, earning a Gold Bid to the Tournament of Champions and a qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship. Benjamin Oestericher (‘20) and Elias Silver (‘20) broke to octofinals, earning a qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship. Aerin Mann (’21) and Kate Reynolds (’21) broke to double octofinals and earned 10th and 13th speaker respectively. Andrew Eastwick (’21) and Sebastian Reardon (’21) also broke to double octofinals in Varsity Public Forum.

In Varsity Lincoln Douglas, Annie Wang (’20) broke to semifinals, earning a bid to the Tournament of Champions and a qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship. Annie Wang (’20) also earned 7th speaker.

In Novice Public Forum, Katia Anastas (’23) Sela Emery (’21) placed 3rd, and Carson Michel (’23) and Vivian Yellen (’23) placed 6th, both teams earning a qualification to the New York State Forensics League State Championships. The teams of Dylan Macleod (’23) and Felix Odenthal (’23) and Karishma Ramkarran (’23) Elizabeth Matta (’23) both had winning records.

In Novice Lincoln Douglas, Muntaha Rashid (’23) had a winning record.
