The Bronx Science Speech and Debate Team Excelled at the NYCFL Raimonde Service Tournament

The team earned a fifth-place sweepstakes award.at the NYCFL Raimonde Service tournament held on October 26, 2019. Click the headline to read about the team's achievements at the Raimonde Service Tournament.


In Congressional Debate, Arjun Mazumdar (’21) placed 2nd and Alina Hassan (’21), Abir Hossain (’21) and Samuel Stille (’22) were finalists. 

In Original Oratory, Bailey Stephen (’21) placed 3rd, earning a half-qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship, and Emery John (’20) placed 4th. Reese Villazor (’21) placed 5th, and Steven Huang (’21) placed 8th.

In Varsity Oral Interpretation, Noelle Barile (’21) placed 4th, receiving a half-qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship.

In Dramatic Performance, Lauren Cho (’22) placed 5th.

In Varsity Extemporaneous Speaking, Kelly Liu (’21) placed 3rd, receiving a half-qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship, and Owen Tumer (’20) placed 6th.

In JV Extemporaneous Speaking, Marina Shirky (’22) placed 7th and earned a half-qualification to the New York State Forensic League State Championship.
