Bronx Science Student's Artwork Chosen for Exhibition

Lucy Del Deo, a student in Ms. Asch's Digital Photography class, has had an artwork selected to be exhibited in the group show "Viewpoints, Stories and Connections." The exhibit is part of ArtsConnection’s Student Art Program. The sponsor and exhibitor of the show, Kekst CNC, selected artworks by only 12 student artists. When asked about her work, Lucy stated, "This photo was taken at the Public Hotel in downtown Manhattan. I found the neon shapes to be really intriguing to the eye and thought that it would make a good picture. It reflects the theme of the exhibit (which is connections) on multiple levels. The first is the most basic, being that it connects the two floors, however it also exhibits the theme of connection because of the electrical connection needed to power the lights ."

The artwork will be professionally framed and hung in the exhibit for one year. Student artists and their families are invited to an opening reception to view the exhibit. The large photograph, printed on 17" x 22" paper, was produced in-house thanks to the generosity of Bronx Science Faculty member Mr. Thorp.
