Sophomore Andrew Barreras has Artwork Selected for Exhibition

Andrew, a student in Ms. Asch's Digital Photography class, has had an artwork selected to be exhibited in the group show "Simplicity in Complexity." The exhibit is part of ArtsConnection’s Student Art Program. The sponsor and exhibitor of the show, Soroban Capital Partners, selected artworks by just 50 artists from over 400 submissions. When asked about his work, Andrew stated, " I took this picture in a mall in New Jersey. The image is of a taxidermied turkey." The photo was handed in for the class photography assignment titled Abstraction from Nature.

The work will be professionally framed and hung in the exhibit for one year. Student artists and their families are invited to an opening reception to view the exhibit. The large photograph, printed on 17" x 22" paper, was produced in-house thanks to the generosity of Bronx Science Faculty member, Mr. Thorp.
