Annual Winter College Night
When: Thu, February 28 , 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Auditorium. Sophomores and juniors and their parents or guardians should not miss this important event.
Admissions Deans and Directors from Babson College, Carnegie Mellon University, Princeton University, and the University of Richmond will be here to talk about the college admissions process.
Topics covered will include:​​​​​​​
What role do each of the following play in the admission process?
  • The Academic Record (transcript, courses, standardized testing)
  • Letters of Recommendation (teachers/counselors)
  • Essays: Personal and supplemental – Your chance to shine

How do you assess the value of Extra-Curricular Activities?
Early Decision/Early Action
What do we mean by demonstrating interest and how does it play into the admission process?
What role do interviews play in the admission process?
How would you perceive students who do not participate in an interview?
What is entailed in creating a realistic college list (financially/academically)?
With so many similar highly qualified applicants what makes an applicant stand out from the crowd?

After the panel discussion and the Q&A there will be break-out sessions with the individual colleges.
